Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research data
Below are reported crime statistics from the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) for the last two financial years.

RailCorp will publish BOCSAR’s quarterly rail crime statistics on its website in line with the recommendation made in the NSW Auditor-General’s February 2003 report on passenger security.

BOCSAR’s figures represent incidents that are reported to and recorded by NSW Police and are regarded as the most accurate available on crime in the rail system. BOCSAR advises that recorded crime data fluctuates depending on people’s willingness and opportunity to report the occurrence of crimes.

Note: the data under the heading of "station" below refers to incidents at railway stations, sidings, terminals, buildings and car parks.
